Hospital

LuAnn here.....We are still in the hospital.  We are anxious to get a few health issues taken care of and get home to Sable.

This cancer challenge has really made us reach deeper into our faith beliefs and rely on the power of God to reveal his plan for us.  We find ourselves living our vows to love "for better or worse" in a most poignant way.

Through it all we try to maintain a sense of humor and keep everything in perspective.  Despite a pretty miserable situation, we realize that we have so many blessings.

Our children and grandchildren are a wonderful reminder of our blessings.  Last night Shannon brought granddaughter Brynn to visit briefly.  She took Ed for a walk around the unit, holding his hand and encouraging him every step.  It melted the hearts of everyone who saw them.

Thank you for the prayers and good thoughts.  We feel them.  LuAnn

  1. It must be tempting sometimes to do the opposite of prayer and curse cancer instead. Doctors are doing the best they can, but it's frustrating to see how little they understand cancer and how limited the choice of treatments is. There's barely any that's not without huge collateral damage for the body too. Can doctors even tell the cause of this cancer? Was it pesticides?

I sincerely hope these malignant cells all get eradicated. I just wish it was as easy as curing a heavily infested computer from all viruses, rootkits and other malware. But biology is not as binary and simple as 0s and 1s. You need to dig into the body assembly language, and there's simply no compiler for that yet...

Best wishes to both of you from France.

  6. We have not thought too much about the cause except for genetic predisposition for any kind of cancer. It sure caught me off guard and I am usually proactive. Just too many distracting bad things last year.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments today, it really lifts me up.

Please pray for my mother tonight, she fell last night and broke her hip.

  7. Ed and Luann, God is not dead! Be strengthened in the knowledge that He who has over come temptation and death is walking this path with you. Romans 8:31, "If God is for us, who can be against us" NIV. Ed we have not met, but you have challenged me, encouraged me, taught me (the admirable qualities of a true educator). It is my hope in this little bit that I may be able to return encouragement to you.

    Blessings
    Jed
