It would certainly tie in to Bible prophecy as "setting the stage." I DO think that we can talk ourselves into a depression, but the problem is world-wide, not just in this country.

I'm reminded, though, of a story that I read many years ago about a guy who picked up a paper from the floor of a tavern and read a financially dismal forecast of the coming year. After leaving, he went back to his business and laid off a few workers, who ultimately quit making their bank payments. The bank in turn, feeling the pinch, foreclosed on the guy who'd laid the workers off and shut down his business. A few days later, he went back to the tavern to drown his sorrows and found the same paper still laying there. That was when he noticed that it was from ten years earlier and had been left on the floor to eventually put under the cage of the nearby parrot, the bar mascot. It just goes to show how some prophesies can be self-fulfilling. I think that at least part of our current situation is the result of the liberal media trying to make the economy look even worse than it was under Bush. They got what they wanted, but they got MORE than they wanted. But, why should they care; their jobs are secure.Gorges Smythehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08777621500611603786noreply@blogger.com
